Abstract
This poster will explore how academic librarians collaborated with teaching faculty to coordinate the creation of a student-generated social media campaign to teach about critical media literacy. Students were tasked with developing content on a range of topics including conspiracy theories, media manipulators, political misinformation, and privacy, creating content for a 13-week social media campaign. This project showcases how students can successfully educate their peers about critical media literacy. Speakers will address approaches to creating curriculum, handling challenges when tasking students with developing public-facing projects, and developing salient strategies for attendees interested in pursuing similar work at their institutions. Presented at ACRL 2025.
