Abstract
Have you ever wanted to see your library from the user's point of view? Are you concerned that some users don't have a voice in traditional assessments? Do you sometimes feel like you just don't know the right questions to ask? In this workshop, you'll learn about photovoice, a qualitative research method that gives more control to the subjects of the study. Photovoice has been used to address systemic disparities from public health to housing to education. Like focus groups, the photovoice method investigates a topic through group discussions. However, instead of answering scripted questions, participants interpret photos they take that represent their lived experiences. As co-investigators, participants study their own points of view.
