Abstract
This study investigates which co-curricular, extracurricular, pre-college, and demographic factors contribute to timely degree completion at a large, public university in the southeastern United States. In response to a new statewide performance-based funding model, the university is focused on improving four-year graduation rates. Analyses include a deep-dive into engagement trends and measures of success for Pell Grant recipients, Black and African American, and Hispanic students, as the four-year graduation rates for these subgroups lag behind their peers. The results will help institutions understand what engagements they should emphasize with different subpopulations that are nuanced based on a variety of factors. Presented at the 2023 Assessment Institute.
