Abstract
Session presenters who are leading an ACRL task force to update the 2017 ACRL Proficiencies for Assessment Librarians and Coordinators (https://www.ala.org/acrl/standards/assessment_proficiencies) invite conference attendees to engage in active conversation and contribute input to identify gaps in the existing proficiencies and brainstorm new proficiencies that should be included in order to ameliorate the absence of Social Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (SJEDI) content in the current document. The Proficiencies for Assessment Librarians and Coordinators allows academic libraries to begin with a common definition of assessment librarian responsibilities. Proficiencies may be used to write job descriptions that define the duties of assessment librarians, assess performance and guide evaluation, and design professional development programs. These proficiencies are also used by graduate Library and Information Studies programs to educate pre-professional librarians to take on assessment tasks across a range of library positions/roles. Presented at the 2022 Library Assessment Conference.
